CHURCH REOPENING

youth prayer partner dinner

Good Morning All

What a time we are living in. As Glenn Matthews stated in his 3 minutes “1 Timothy tells us that perilous times shall come." And I can see that those times are here. Let me give you some updates concerning Church. Please keep in mind that it is my desire to protect each and every one. Therefore I have been doing some calling and emailing several places that I feel have churches in mind. I understand that we are going into Phase two possible this coming Friday however nothing changes for churches. We still have to abide by social distancing and can have only 50 percent of the Certificate of Occupancy. Therefore here is what I suggest that we are going to do.

Executive Order 63 states the following:

“Any other indoor place shared by groups of people who are in close proximity to each other need to wear masks and social distance. This restriction does not apply to persons while inside their residence or the Personal residence of another. Face coverings may be removed to participate in a religious ritual. Which in my opinion is very very vague. Therefore I reached out to the National center for Life and Liberty in Florida which was founded by David Gibbs who is an excellent attorney for Churches. His firm is also the attorney for the Virginia Association of Independent Baptist. And one of the attorneys that works for him responded to an email that I sent and I will quote.

“I interpret a religious ritual to mean a worship service with all that entails—singing, preaching etc. We at the NCLL just recommend that churches that want to reopen in every state do so by following the basic guidelines for essential services, such as social distancing, disinfecting etc."

Barbara J. Weller
Attorney for National center for Life and Liberty
Largo Florida

The NCLL has also suggested the following statement.

Covid 19 is highly contagious and is known to spread from person to person contact. By attending Liberty Baptist Church Services you agree to abide by the procedures established by the church to protect attendees and staff and you voluntarily assume the risk that you and you family may be infected in church service, or in the nursery. You agree to assume all the risks of attendance and participation for you and your family and you waive any liability against the church and any other parties.

We will post warnings of the risks of the virus on those doors that are unlocked. When inside the building we are suggesting no physical contact.

With that in mind I am making the following suggestions for Church services beginning this Sunday June 7th

  1. When you come, you can decide if you will wear a mask or not. We will continue to live stream for a period of time.
  2. We do understand that some have medical reasons for not wearing a mask
  3. Masks for nursery workers will be provided for the safety of the child as well as the worker.
  4. Once you enter the front door, head straight to the auditorium and find your seat.
  5. Every other pew will be marked off and we are asking that families sit together. Please keep in mind that your pew that you have sat in for 8 years may be marked off so just find another one.
  6. WE will have to use the very front pews, which will be a row of chairs  which I know people like to steer clear of being so close to the platform
  7. IF you decide to stay in the foyer area and fellowship we ask that you wear a mask. However again once you are in the auditorium and in your pew you may remove it.
  8. There will be no Sunday school as of yet until further notice
  9. When we leave the service those that are on the left side of the auditorium will leave out the handicap door
  10. Those on the right side of the auditorium will exit the back right side door and proceed out the front door. If you are going to fellowship after service we are suggesting you do so in the parking lot.
  11. If you arrive and the auditorium is full we will live stream into the Family life center.
  12. The only doors that will be unlocked are the front auditorium doors and the auditorium front handicap doors. All glass doors will remained locked.
  13. IF we decide to do a bulletin Diane will wear gloves when folding them and the person handing them out will have gloves on as well so there is no personal contact

For Wednesday night’s here’s what we are suggesting.

  1. We will follow the same guidelines as on Sunday.
  2. Everyone will meet in the auditorium for singing and missionary letter. Then those in Jr. High, Senior High and College will be released and asked to go outside and walk around to the front doors of the Sunday school wings
  3. Miss Lisa’s  Class will meet in a nursery and Mid Pointers will meet in their normal room. Go to your perspective classes. It will be there that you will have your bible studies and take prayer requests
  4. Following church we ask that you proceed back out the front doors that you entered in back to the parking lot where your cars are parked
  5. The Office wing and the Family life center will be locked down so every building does not have to be disinfected following the services.
  6. Rooms that you may enter in, the doors will be opened so no one will have to touch the handles.
  7. Jr. High Senior High and College are responsible for disinfecting your class before they leave.

Please bear with us, sometime in the future we will be back to normal. Looking forward to all the services this Sunday.
